Magician Ken Caplan brings a free 45-minute comedy and magic show to Reston Town Square Park on Saturday, Aug. 15, giving families with young kids a reason to head to Reston Town Center before the summer heat sets in.
The show runs from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the park, 11900 Market St., at the corner of Market Street and Explorer Street. No tickets or registration required. The event is presented by the Reston Community Center and the Reston Town Center Association in partnership with MSE Productions.
Caplan, based in Pikesville, Maryland, blends magic tricks with comedy, puppets, live music and audience participation. He's a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and has won awards for presentation and originality, according to his performer website. He performs throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
The show is part of the Family Fun Entertainment Series, which has run every Saturday morning since July 4 with 45-minute acts geared toward families with small children. Saturday's performance is the second-to-last of the 2026 season. The final show is Aug. 22.
Reston Town Center garage parking is free on weekends.
