Reston Town Center North heads to final vote with 2050 buildout horizon

The Fairfax County Planning Commission voted 11-0 on July 22 to advance the 47.9-acre Reston Town Center North rezoning to the Board of Supervisors, which will hold its final vote Sept. 15; if approved, land swaps between the county and Inova Health System will allow Phase 1 site preparation to begin in late 2026, though full buildout won't finish until around 2050.

Mizusawa wins GOP Senate primary, will challenge Warner in November

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bert Mizusawa won Virginia's Republican Senate primary on Aug. 4 with about 51% of the vote and will face incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Warner on Nov. 3, though he faces a steep fundraising disadvantage.
