Inova Blood Donor Services will hold a community blood drive at Reston Bible Church on Saturday, Oct. 10. All blood types are needed, with type O in especially high demand.
The drive runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the church, 45650 Oakbrook Court in Dulles. The non-denominational church carries the Reston name but sits just across the community boundary in Dulles, Virginia 20166.
Inova Blood Donor Services (IBDS), a subsidiary of Inova Health System, said in a press release that the drive is one of at least eight community blood drives scheduled across the region in October.
Donors can schedule an appointment at InovaBlood.org or by calling 1-866-BLOODSAVES.
Reston-area residents who cannot make the Saturday drive have another nearby option. The Inova Dulles Donor Center at 45745 Nokes Boulevard in Sterling accepts whole blood and platelet donations Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows.
