Ebbitt House, the Clyde's Restaurant Group venture at Reston Station, is now aiming for around the first week of November, a restaurant representative told The Burn on Sunday, Oct. 11. The timeline is slightly later than the previously anticipated October opening.

The restaurant's signage is now up at 1860 Reston Row Plaza, across the plaza from the JW Marriott hotel. But diners waiting for what Comstock Companies has called the first expansion of D.C.'s Old Ebbitt Grill brand will need a few more weeks.

No reason for the delay was given.

Clyde's Restaurant Group had targeted October as recently as August, when developer Comstock confirmed the timeline in a second-quarter earnings report. An Ebbitt House spokesperson told FFXnow at the time that "the team couldn't be more eager to welcome the community through the doors."

The restaurant will seat 260 inside, with two private rooms and two bars. A 125-seat patio will include a third bar outdoors. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved revisions to Comstock's Reston Station plans to allow the outdoor dining area.

General Manager Ajay Bhatia and Executive Chef Diego Ramirez are both veterans of Clyde's of Reston, which closed in May 2022 after a 31-year run at Reston Town Center. Bhatia has spent more than 40 years in the restaurant industry, including nearly a decade with Clyde's Restaurant Group.

In August, Bhatia told FFXnow he was "looking forward to coming back to Reston and reconnecting with my regulars."

The menu will feature burgers, steak, house-made pastas and seafood, including oysters at a raw bar. The bar will serve wines, beer, martinis and other cocktails.

Ebbitt House joins a growing retail lineup at Reston Row that includes Noku Sushi, bakery Tous Les Jours and Vida Fitness. An indoor golf simulator venue from Back Nine Golf is also on the way. An adjacent 6,000-square-foot retail space recently finished construction.

The lease for the Ebbitt House space was first announced in March 2023. Reston Row is now fully built out, anchored by the 419-unit BLVD Haley apartment building, two office buildings and the JW Marriott Hotel and Residences near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station.
