Reston Winterfest tickets go on sale for Dec. 3–5 festival

Tickets for Reston's fourth annual Winterfest go on sale at noon Thursday, Oct. 15, at reston.org/winterfest for the three-night holiday festival at Brown's Chapel Park.

Reston Association members get in free. Nonmember adults pay $20, and children ages 3 to 17 pay $10. Children 2 and younger attend free. Every attendee needs a ticket, even those eligible for free admission.

Last year's Winterfest drew 10,500 people over three nights, according to The Reston Letter. The newsletter reported 60 community-sponsored Christmas trees and 40 food and craft vendors at the 2025 event.

What's new

The biggest addition is the Polar Play Park, an ice-themed area with ice carvings and interactive ice games, as first reported by Patch. The attraction will be available weather permitting.

Returning favorites

The half-mile Light Up the Park walk returns with thousands of holiday lights, along with the Enchanted Forest, where decorated Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses and families line the route. Visitors can also expect free Santa photos, Grinch's Village, a Vendor Village for holiday shopping, fire pits with marshmallow roasting and food trucks.

Laura Kowalski, Reston Association's director of recreation, called Winterfest one of the community's most popular holiday events and said it has become an annual tradition for many local families.

Trees for families in need

The festival's charitable side centers on the Enchanted Forest. After Winterfest ends, the decorated trees will be donated to Reston families in need.

Friends of Reston coordinates the initiative, with trees sponsored by local businesses, community organizations and families. Residents and businesses interested in sponsoring a tree can contact Reston Association for details.
