The Reston Museum is opening seven private properties to the public Saturday, Oct. 17, for the 24th Annual Reston Home Tour.
The self-guided tour runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticket holders can explore each home at their own pace and see how owners have shaped their spaces around Reston's green corridors and lake views, according to the museum's event page.
Tickets cost $40. Residents can buy them in person at the Reston Museum, at 1639 Washington Plaza North on Lake Anne Plaza, and avoid processing fees entirely. Ordering through the museum's website carries a smaller processing fee than purchasing through Eventbrite. All sales are final and non-refundable. The tour is open to ages 12 and up.
The Eventbrite listing describes the tour as six homes plus two additional location stops. The museum's own website counts seven properties. Either way, the tour covers ground across the community.
The Home Tour is one of the Reston Museum's largest annual fundraisers. Proceeds support the museum's work preserving and sharing Reston's history, and the museum said on its event page that it is grateful to the homeowners, sponsors and volunteers who make the nonprofit event possible each year.
The museum called the tour one of Reston's favorite traditions in an Oct. 11 Facebook post promoting this year's edition. The event has run annually for more than two decades.
Tickets and the full tour map are available on the museum's website at restonmuseum.org.
