The Fairfax County Police Department's Reston District Station is holding a free Coffee with a Cop session on Wednesday, July 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. at 2235 Soapstone Drive in Reston.

No registration is required. Residents can drop in anytime during the two-hour window to meet officers, ask questions and raise neighborhood concerns.

The station, commanded by Major Mohammed Oluwa, covers 56 square miles including Reston, parts of Great Falls, Vienna, Oak Hill, and Herndon. MPO Jenette Post serves as the station's Community Outreach Officer.

Teen leadership program deadline: Monday, July 13

Separately, the application deadline for FCPD's free Future Women Leaders in Law Enforcement summer program is Monday. The five-day program runs July 27–31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters in Fairfax. It is open to rising 10th- through 12th-grade girls across Northern Virginia and covers leadership development, aviation, patrol operations and networking with women leaders in the department.
