A 64-year-old Fair Oaks man is in custody on a second-degree murder charge after fatally shooting his wife inside their home Sunday night, Fairfax County Police said.
Leland Jameson was charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 10:21 p.m. in the 12000 block of Washington Brice Road in Fair Oaks, according to the FCPD Public Affairs Bureau. A dispatcher heard sounds consistent with a disturbance before the line disconnected. A second 911 call came in at 10:39 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found Chisen Jameson, 60, inside the home with gunshot wounds to her upper body. She was declared dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau preliminarily determined that Leland Jameson fatally shot his wife inside their residence. The investigation remains active, with detectives conducting interviews and processing evidence to determine what led to the shooting.
Victim specialists from the Major Crimes Bureau's Victim Services Division have been assigned to connect the family with support services.
Police have not released a motive. No court date has been announced.
