A Veterans Day 5K race returns to Reston Town Center on Nov. 11, with registration open at $35 per runner.
The second annual RTC Run for Valor 5K starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Reston Town Center Pavilion, 11900 Market St. The course winds through Reston Town Center, according to the event's registration page.
BXP is hosting the race in honor of Valor, the company's Veterans Employee Resource Group. Valor's stated mission is to embrace BXP's community of employee veterans and allies by supporting, connecting and sharing knowledge, according to the registration page. The group aims to engage the Reston Town Center community to foster connection and promote veterans' professional development.
Microsoft and its Military at Microsoft Employee Resource Group are partnering on the event.
All proceeds go to Soldiers' Angels, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides aid and resources to active-duty service members, veterans and their families. The organization operates a volunteer network across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and 31 countries, according to its website. Soldiers' Angels says it has sent care packages to combat-deployed service members over the past 22 years.
Those who cannot attend the race can donate to Soldiers' Angels directly through the race website.
Registration costs $35 through race day and includes a race shirt. The top three male and female finishers will receive awards.
Runners can pick up race packets Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at PR Run and Walk, 11911 Democracy Drive in Reston Town Center.
Participants can register online through the event page.
