Comstock Holding Companies, the publicly traded developer whose projects anchor Reston Station, landed on Newsweek's list of America's Greatest Mid-Market Companies for 2026.

The Reston-based firm (Nasdaq: CHCI) was one of 100 companies chosen from roughly 4,300 initially reviewed, according to a company announcement on Friday, Oct. 16. Only 400 of those firms met the eligibility and data requirements for full evaluation.

The ranking, developed by Newsweek in partnership with Plant A Insights Group, evaluated publicly listed U.S. companies with fiscal year 2025 revenue between $10 million and $75 million. Companies were scored across four categories: financial strength and market performance, workforce performance, innovation, and environmental sustainability.

The evaluation drew on more than 2.7 million employee reviews, third-party workforce data and additional research, according to Newsweek. A qualitative review screened public records and media coverage from the prior 24 months. No applications or payments were accepted for inclusion, the announcement stated.

Chris Clemente, Comstock's chairman and chief executive officer, said in the announcement that the recognition reflects the company's debt-free business model and its focus on results for shareholders. The list is annual.

The ranking follows several high-profile developments at Reston Station. QTS Data Centers signed a 77,000-square-foot headquarters lease at Comstock's 1800 Reston Row Plaza in 2026, as Patch reported. A penthouse at the JW Marriott Residences Reston Station sold for $10.9 million in August, setting a Virginia condo sales record, according to FFXnow. The 90-plus condos in the Residences have generated $115 million in sales since the building opened in September 2025, FFXnow reported.

"This latest record is another important milestone for Reston Station and reflects the demand we continue to see for a truly differentiated residential experience in Northern Virginia," Clemente said in August when the record sale was announced.

Comstock has also expanded into data center development. Oklahoma AI Ventures, a joint venture involving Comstock, entered a non-binding letter of intent for up to 3 gigawatts of power across roughly 6,000 acres in north-central Oklahoma, according to a StockTitan report.

Reston Station spans about 90 acres around the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station and houses headquarters for Google, Booz Allen Hamilton, ICF International and CARFAX, according to Comstock. The development also includes the JW Marriott hotel and residences, luxury apartment towers, restaurants and retail.

Comstock's leadership team is scheduled to meet with investors at the LD Micro 20th Annual Main Event, Monday, Oct. 19, through Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Los Angeles.
